Siddhivinayak Temple, Mumbai (Maharashtra)

History

The Sacred Siddhivinayak Temple is one of the most revered Shrines of Lord Shree Ganesha. It was originally built in the year 1801 by Laxman Vithu and Deubai Patil. The Temple was modest in size but carried immense spiritual power. Over the centuries, it grew in popularity as devotees believed that Lord Shree Ganesha, in His Siddhivinayak Form, removes obstacles and fulfills wishes.

The main Idol of Lord Shree Ganesha is carved from a single black stone, with His Trunk turned to the right, making it one of the rare and highly auspicious Forms. The Idol is flanked by the Goddesses Riddhi and Siddhi, symbolizing prosperity and spiritual power.

Today, the Temple is not only a spiritual center but also an important cultural landmark in Mumbai, visited by millions, including leaders, saints, and devotees from around the world.
