Ranthambore Trinetra Ganesh Temple (Rajasthan)

History

The Sacred Ranthambore Trinetra Ganesh Temple is one of the most ancient and revered Shrines of Lord Shree Ganesha in India. It is located within the historic Ranthambore Fort in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan. The Temple is unique because it enshrines Lord Shree Ganesha with Three Eyes (Trinetra Form), symbolizing His Omniscience and Divine Vision.

The Temple was built in 1299 AD by King Hammir Dev Chauhan of Ranthambore. According to legend, during a battle with Alauddin Khilji, the King had a Divine vision of Lord Shree Ganesha, who assured him of protection. Soon after, the Idol of Lord Shree Ganesha manifested inside the Fort. The King then constructed this Temple to honor the Divine.

Devotees believe that Trinetra Form of Lord Shree Ganesha here watches over the entire Fort and fulfills the wishes of His devotees. It is also believed that sending the first wedding invitation to this Temple ensures Divine blessings for a harmonious marriage.
